[...] Beware the last minute supermarket dash on Valentine’s Day. You might think you can pick up something for dinner and a bunch of flowers at the same time. Big mistake, supermarket flowers will not compare to a florists bouquet, most often squashed together in a bit of clear plastic. They may be a bit cheaper but will definitely look it and your loved one will know they required all of two seconds thought. Even the posh supermarkets don’t cut it for flowers at Christmas and Valentine’s Day, their flowers will cost the same as a florist but the quality grade will be lower and the stems a lot shorter. Last year I told you how the length of flowers relates to the quality.
I made a heart this afternoon whilst it was pouring with rain outside. Very easy as the instructions were good to follow. Haven't got any stuffing so will do that later. I will dry some lavendar too - once it stops raining! I am going to make more with Laura Ashley material - yummie!!

You will get a better choice ordering your flowers in advance to collect or have delivered, rather than leaving it until 5pm on Valentines Day. Don't forget Valentines Day is on Sunday this year too.

I have bought roses from a supermarket before and in my opinion they don't look that different, they are red and flowery.

Having said that a couple of years ago I bought flowers from the local florist and when they opened they were far bigger and they lasted so much longer, which ment more brownie points for more days. A win win situation.

This year should I send them to my girlfreinds work because I normally pick them up on the way home and hand them to her myself???
